General Description

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for providing financial, clerical and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate payment of accounts under his or her control.

Essential Job Functions

• Reswponsible for timely and accurate processing of accunt payable duties
• Daily opening of mail and date stamping
• Filing of processed invoices and PO's
• Maintain up-to-date billing system and follow up, collection and allocation of payments.
• Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines
• Provide reconciliation of accounts and maintain accounts receivable customer files
• Monitors client/vendor account details for non payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
• Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash, adjustments and prepare bank deposits
• Investigate and resolve client/Vendor queries
• Organizing a recovery system and initiate collection efforts
• Communicating with client/vendor via phone, email, mail or personally
• Perform research as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One to three years accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting experience.

Certifications & Licenses

• Professional certification may be required in some areas

Physical Requirements

• Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
• Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.
